Dallas Mavericks power forward Kristaps Porzingis missed the Mavs' scrimmage on Sunday because he forgot to take a COVID-19 test on Saturday.
The NBA is handing down one-day quarantines to players who forget to go to their designated locations for the daily COVID-19 tests.
Now, while speaking to Mavs reporters on Monday, Porzingis said he wishes he didn't make the mistake.
Porzingis on missing the COVID-19 test on Saturday: "It was just a mistake on my part. It was a day off and everything kind of threw me off a little bit and I just kind of missed it. It is what it is now. I can't turn back the time and do the test. I wish I could." @dallasmavs

Denver Nuggets big man Paul Millsap had to sit out the team's scrimmage on Saturday for the same reason as Kristaps Porzingis, so at least the Mavs star wasn't alone in his mistake.
Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Porzingis was averaging 19.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for the Mavs in 51 starts. The 7-footer, who will be making his NBA playoff debut after the conclusion of the seeding games, was also shooting 42.0 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line.
The Mavs will be in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings when the seeding games start later this week. Dallas has a record of 40-27. The franchise hasn't won a playoff series since the 2011 championship, so fans are both excited and anxious to watch KP and Luka Doncic play in the NBA postseason for the first time.
Porzingis, who was acquired by Dallas from the New York Knicks, has career NBA averages of 18.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 237 regular-season games with the Knicks and Mavs.
