Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban expects power forward Kristaps Porzingis to stay around the Mavs amid the rape allegation he's dealing with.
Moreover, according to head coach Rick Carlisle, he gave Porzingis the option to take some time away from the team. However, Porzingis opted to stay with the Mavs and will be on the bench on Monday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
Brett Brown said his lasting memory of Dirk was how miserable he made coaches who had to gameplan against him.
It wasn’t just that he shot so well, but he did so many other things well that there was no gameplan that worked well against Dirk according to Brown.

Mavs Coach Rick Carlisle said things are “business as usual from a basketball perspective” as it relates to Kristaps Porzingis. RC said he called him to say the team would give him time to be away but Porzingis said he wanted to be around the team. KP will be on the bench vs PHI

Because he is not on the active roster, Kristaps Porzingis is not required to speak to the media. KP has fully recovered from the ACL tear which he suffered last season with the New York Knicks, but he won't play this season.
Porzingis' legal team is taking care of the situation. Attorney Roland G. Riopelle said the allegations against Porzingis aren't true. The incident allegedly happened hours after Porzingis tore his ACL with the Knicks in February last season.
The Mavs acquired Porzingis from the Knickerbockers on Jan. 31 in a seven player trade. Dallas sent center DeAndre Jordan, small forward Wesley Matthews, point guard Dennis Smith Jr., a 2021 first-round pick and a 2023 first-round pick in exchange for Porzingis along with Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Courtney Lee.
Porzingis is expected to play next season for the team.
