When Luka Doncic hit a clutch 3-point dagger to give the Dallas Mavericks a four-point lead in the final 40 seconds of Game 4 against the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James couldn't hide his amazement and took to Twitter to share his reaction. Unfortunately, moments later, the Mavs ended up losing 100-99.

Here is Luka's triple that put the Mavs up 99-95 with 39.1 seconds left:

And here's LeBron's reaction to the crazy shot:

Now while we're not that superstitious, it is worth noting that this is already the third time in the 2022 playoffs that a team winning the game ended up losing after LeBron's tweet. Remember when he called Kyrie Irving “God-rie” for his incredible fourth-quarter in Game 1 of the Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics series?

Irving scored 18 of his 39 points in the final quarter and gave the Nets a 114-111 lead with 45.9 seconds left to go with a triple. Like what happened to the Mavs, Brooklyn lost by one-point after the Celtics staged a comeback capped by a Jayson Tatum buzzer-beating layup.

Coincidence? Maybe. But how about his recent tweet on the Minnesota Timberwolves-Memphis Grizzlies Game 3 wherein he praised Patrick Beverley for his performance against Ja Morant? The Wolves raced to an early lead with Pat Bev seemingly on his way to a big game. Nonetheless, the home team collapsed and squandered their 25-point lead in the contest.

Going way back to the play-in, James also had some major praises for Ty Lue after it looked like the Los Angeles Clippers were going to survive the New Orleans Pelicans even without Paul George? In the end, the Clips were eliminated as the Pels moved on to the postseason.

It is certainly fun to speculate that LeBron James had some sort of mysterious role in those losses. However, in the end, Luka Doncic and the Mavs and the other teams mentioned can only blame themselves for the defeat. It's not like LeBron's playing for them anyway.

But hey, maybe it'll help if the Lakers star doesn't tweet before a game is over?
