Luka Doncic is now likely to play Wednesday when the Dallas Mavericks take on the Sacramento Kings in their final contest before All-Star Weekend, according to Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle.
Luka Doncic will be upgraded, coach Rick Carlisle said. Sounds likely he’ll play Wednesday

The All-Star starter missed seven straight games with a sprained ankle he suffered in a practice toward the end of January.
On Monday, Carlisle posited that Doncic's return to the hardwood could come in Sunday's All-Star Game, and he didn't express any qualms with the idea.
Carlisle also said on his weekly @1033fmESPN appearance that the Mavs would have no issue with Luka Doncic returning from his right ankle sprain in the All-Star Game if that’s how the timing of his recovery works out. https://t.co/xcw1HqmL3S

Doncic's condition has evidently improved over the last couple days, or maybe the team preferred for him to make an appearance before the team's nine-day layoff. Their next game after Wednesday will come on Feb. 21 in Orlando.
The 20-year-old Doncic is having an MVP-caliber season in just his second season, putting up 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. He ranks fifth in the NBA in Offensive Win Shares (5.2) while propelling the Mavericks to the best offense in basketball.
Article Continues BelowThe Mavs (32-22) went 3-4 in Luka's absence and currently trail the Oklahoma City Thunder by a game in the loss column for the No. 6 seed in the West. Dallas certainly needs Doncic's presence in the lineup in order to make any noise down the stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs.
