Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is likely entering the final few games of his NBA career. His squad picked up the win over the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors on Saturday, and after the contest, Warriors forward Kevin Durant dished on Nowitzki and whether or not he believed that the future Hall of Famer should be hanging up the sneakers in just a few weeks time, via Anthony Slater of The Athletic:
“Has Dirk retired yet? I feel like everyone is trying to push him out of the league … he looked great tonight.”
Nowitzki did indeed dial back the clock for Saturday's drubbing of Golden State, collecting a season-high 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting overall, including going 5-for-8 from behind the three-point line. Adding five rebounds and two blocks during his 26 minutes of action, it was far and away the best performance that the 40-year-old has dialed up this season.

Despite having been named as an honorary member of the All-Star team, getting tribute video packages from opponents and even send-offs directly from other head coaches, Nowitzki hasn't officially announced that he'll be done after April 10's game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Dallas has moved Nowitzki into the starting five for most of the stretch run of the season with the team already eliminated from the postseason. He has appeared in 42 games (11 starts) this season and averaged career lows across the board with 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds across 14 minutes per contest.
