Jason Kidd has made it to the pinnacle of basketball greatness, as the former Dallas Mavericks point guard was enshrined Friday to the Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Fame. Kidd built his legacy on the backs of his unmatched ability to drop dimes, but he also showed, at least during his speech tonight, that he can dish out some savage ribbings when he mocked former teammate and Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki.

ā€œDirk, I carried you. I know. So donā€™t tweet out anymore of that you carried me and Steve [Kerr].ā€

Kidd was only getting back at Dirk, who earlier congratulated Jason Kidd and Steve Kerr for looming induction to the Hall of Fame, but couldnā€™t help himself from mocking his former teammates.

Kidd was also referring to that 2011 NBA title run by the Mavs, who then had the 37-year-old guard in the denouement of his stellar career but played a significant role in delivering the franchiseā€™s first league championship. It was also the first of Dirk Nowitzki after failing in his first try in 2006 against the Miami Heat (Dirk and the Mavs were also the favorite to win it all in 2007, but was infamously upset by the Ā 8th seedGolden State Warriors in the first round of that yearā€™s playoffs).

Assuming that next season will be Dirkā€™s last in the NBA before calling it a career, Kidd and Nash will not have to wait for long before their former teammate and ā€œBlonde Brotherā€ joins them in the Hall of Fame. By then, Dirk will have his chance of returning the favor to Kidd.
