It was a frustrating first half for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks against the Los Angeles Lakers. So frustrating in fact that the Mavs star decided to take it out on his jersey.

Down 19 points to the Lakers with a 1:11 left in the half, it's safe to say that Dallas has not played their best half of basketball. The Mavs are without star power forward Kristaps Porzingis, but the Purple and Gold are without a star of their own in Anthony Davis.

As for Doncic, the second-year phenom had a fairly productive half. What angered him was his performance at the free-throw line where he made just seven of his 12 attempts.

Free throw struggles for the Slovenian star are fairly uncommon, as the 20-year-old has shot over 80 percent from the line this season.

Led by strong performances from Kyle Kuzma and LeBron James, the Lakers dropped 79 points at the half and held Dallas to just 58. Los Angeles entered Friday night's game with a 30-7 record that puts them atop the Western Conference standings.

Despite his struggles in the first half of the game, Luka Doncic has set the NBA world on fire this season. In only his second year, Doncic is putting up 29.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. As for the Mavs, the team entered the game 23-14 record and are firmly in the sixth spot in the West.

Although the Mavs have enjoyed a solid season, they have struggled as of late and lost four of their last six games entering Friday.
