Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic, Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons, and Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell have opened as the favorites to win the Rising Stars MVP award at All-Star Weekend on Feb. 15, according to BetOnline.ag.
Doncic and Simmons will be representing Team World, while Mitchell will be representing Team United States.
All three players have become household names, with Doncic taking the league by storm in his rookie campaign this season.
The 19-year-old is averaging 20.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.1 steals over 32.1 minutes per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 34.8 percent from 3-point range and 73.1 percent from the free-throw line.
In an era of positionless basketball, Doncic is the quintessential player, having enough size and length to guard multiple positions defensively but also possessing the ball-handling ability to play point guard as well as off the ball on the offensive end.
Simmons is an incredibly unique player in his own right.

The reigning Rookie of the Year is not exactly a threat in terms of shooting the basketball, but he is a terrific passer and creator.

This season, he is recording 22.4 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals through 33.1 minutes per game, connecting on 42.1 percent of his field goal attempts, 32.4 percent of his triples and 79.6 percent of his foul shots.
