Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray's clutch gene was evident against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena on Wednesday. He came up with two crucial threes on two separate occasions to give his team a fighting chance.

With Denver down by three with less than 40 ticks remaining in regulation, Murray calmly sunk a transition triple to tie the ball game.

The Wizards regained the lead and had another 3-point advantage with just five seconds remaining on the clock. The 23-year-old Nuggets shooter, however, was not done with his heroics just yet as he called his own number for another cold-blooded trey.

Wizards forward Rui Hachimura sized up Murray near the logo after the inbound. But instead of trying to get closer to the basket, Murray simply launched from that ridiculous distance and splashed another game-tying 3-pointer.

It appeared that the highly-competitive battle was headed for an extra five minutes, but Jamal Murray and the Nuggets eventually lost in an anti-climatic fashion. Wizards forward Bradley Beal attacked the basket in the ensuing possession and absorbed contact from JaMychal Green. While that play could have easily been a no-call, Beal was rewarded with two free throws and iced the game, giving Washington a 130-128 win.

Despite the loss, Jamal Murray came away with 35 points on 13-for-25 shooting from the field and 5-for-10 from deep. He also had nine rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 40 minutes.
