Time is running out for Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray to make a return this season after tearing his ACL last April. However, even with just over two weeks remaining until the start of the playoffs, the Nuggets don't want to rule anything out just yet when it comes to their star shooting guard.

Michael Malone told Mike Singer of The Denver Post that the team is not shutting Murray down for the season. Malone is leaving the door ajar for a possible return in the playoffs and wants to “leave all options on the table.”

In an ideal world, Murray would have been back already in order to ramp things up before the postseason. But that hasn't happened yet, and the Nuggets have just five games left in the regular season. At this point, it sure doesn't seem as if he'll play in any of these remaining regular-season games.

Bringing back Murray in the playoffs would be a risk after he missed all this time due to knee surgery. But as long as that knee is fully healthy, Denver must figure any version of Murray is better than no Murray. He would certainly be rusty and getting thrown into the fire like that would be tough, but he is a great player and Nikola Jokic would surely appreciate any help he can get.

Jokic is having another MVP-caliber campaign this season and is doing it without Murray and Michael Porter Jr, who has only appeared in nine games this season. It appears Porter won't be returning this season after a setback with his back injury.

The Nuggets are 46-31 this season despite the major injuries, good for fifth in the Western Conference.
