The Detroit Pistons pulled the trigger on a trade with the Boston Celtics after the latter acquired Gordon Hayward back on Jul. 4 as a free agent. Having commanded a $128 million offer for four years, defensive ace Avery Bradley was sure the roster was due for a massive shakedown.
Bradley was traded to the Detroit Pistons shortly after for Marcus Morris, after the Celtics failed to extend him a long-term offer for his services, but were so willing to reel in a star talent like Hayward's into the fold.
The elite perimeter hawk knew it was only a matter of time before the Celtics made consequent moves, eventually taking a shot at acquiring Kyrie Irving, which came true on Tuesday in a swap of his former teammate Isaiah Thomas.
Bradley took to Instagram to tell his followers: “y'all knew what was gonna happen” — in a clip of him wearing his old Celtics' green while heading back into the locker room.

Bradley isn't just an elite-caliber defender, but one of the most intelligent talents in the NBA, which wouldn't surprise anyone who's had to go against him. Being dealt to Detroit will increase his chances of netting a long-term deal if the team can somehow rid itself of large contracts like Reggie Jackson's or Andre Drummond's — two of the three largest on the payroll.
