Blake Griffin's reign as the lone 50-point scorer of the season lasted only 24 hours, and so has any thought of his restrictions in back-to-back games. Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey noted his star player is healthy enough to play two days in a row and would rather monitor his time on the floor than keep him out of it for the entire game.

“Blake’s healthy,” said Casey, according to Keith Langlois of Pistons.com. “I’d really much rather go on the side of monitoring his minutes more so than not him playing in back to backs. We’re in a situation where every game is important.”

The Pistons are off to a 3-0 start to the season under Casey. Casey has given this roster a complete makeover in terms of tempo and mindset — something that starts and ends with Griffin.

Griffin has an injury history and the Pistons' medical staff had been preaching caution during the preseason due to it, but all bets are officially off as the regular season is underway and Detroit can't waste time by falling behind and hoping to sneak into the playoff picture.

Casey indicated that Griffin's playing time will be in the 33-to-34-minute range on most nights, an allotment that can still put him in line for a career year with his new team.

Griffin is coming off a 50-point bomb in overtime against the Philadelphia 76ers, along with an and-1 finish to cap off a statement win against one of the contenders for the Eastern Conference crown.
