The fact that Jackson is showing positive signs in recovery is great news for the Pistons, who are currently holding 7-13 overall record. He's a gifted point guard and an important piece of the team's rotation.
Article Continues BelowDue to his injury, Jackson has only been able to make two appearances with the Pistons this season. In those outings, he racked up averages of 5.0 points on 36.4 percent shooting from the field (20.0 percent from beyond the arc), 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds.
Jackson is no stranger to the injury bug, as he's dealt with several over the course of his career. Hopefully he'll get back on the court sooner rather than later.
“A few years back, I thought (my future) was retirement after this season,” Jackson said over the offseason, via CBS Sports. “… I was just getting injured too much and I had hit basketball depression and it was a point in time that I really didn't want to deal with the game anymore. It was more the injuries that started to have that (retirement) thought creep in my head.”
Bruce Brown has picked up some of the slack for the Pistons in Jackson's absence. Brown had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in Sunday's 132-98 victory over the Spurs. Detroit will likely call on Brown until Jackson is well enough to return.
The Pistons will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to Cleveland for a matchup against the Cavs. Tip-off inside Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
