Detroit Pistons All-Star Blake Griffin is steadily improving his 3-point shot this offseason.
In a video clip of one of his workouts, Griffin can be seen trying catch-and-shoot 3-pointers. It's also worth noting that Griffin is emphasizing the speed of his release from beyond the arc.

Griffin, the top overall pick of of the 2009 NBA draft, entered the league without a 3-point shot. He was primarily known for his athletic dunks and finishes, as well as his brute strength.

As his career progressed, however, he slowly added a reliable perimeter shot to his arsenal, followed later on by a 3-point shot. In particular, in the 2017-2018 campaign, the six-time All-Star averaged 1.9 3-pointers per game on 5.6 attempts. It was the first time in Griffin's career that he averaged more than one 3-pointer per game.
In his first full season with the Pistons last year, Griffin improved his tally to 2.5 3-pointers per game on 7.0 attempts — both career-highs. His 36.2 percent clip, too, is the best in his career.
In the upcoming 2019-2020 season, we might see Griffin take his shooting to a whole different level. For fans who have followed Griffin's career, he doesn't exactly possess the smoothest stroke out there. He's certainly aware of this fact and, perhaps, that's why he decided to re-calibrate his mechanics just a bit. After all, the game has drastically changed over the last several years.
From the looks of it, centers and power forwards are expected to do things that a guard does. They simply cannot camp in the post or be the roll guy in pick-and-rolls. Griffin is willing to embrace and ride the wave of changes in basketball not only to survive but also to remain as one of the elites.
