The league's NBA Mexico City Games 2019 definitely proved to be a success, with avid supporters flocking the Mexico City Arena to witness the Dallas Mavericks take on the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. It was the Mavs who would emerge victorious, 122-111, and for his part, NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley did not seem too pleased with Detroit's performance on the evening.

The retired former 11-time All-Star could not help but criticize the Pistons' nonchalant defense, joking that it would probably be better if Detroit stayed in Mexico instead of returning to the United States.

Barkley was referencing the proposed territorial border wall that would divide Mexico and the U.S. This is presently one of the most polarizing political topics in the nation, and being the funny man that he is, Sir Charles decided to make light of the hot issue.
