Before he became the player that he is today, Blake Griffin was just like any ordinary basketball player, trying to improve his skills at a young age. That includes finding the best shooting form in order for him to become more efficient on the court, which a throwback video recently revealed.

While his shooting stroke now looks like any normal one, he did not have the same form when he still in high school. He had a completely different stroke being a jumpshooter before despite being taller than the ones he competed with back then, compared to now where he releases the ball only when he reaches the peak of his jump.

It’s hard to question his choice of changing it, as it has made him a better shooter especially from the free-throw line, as he struggled to knock down shots from that distance during his earlier days in the NBA. He can also make 3-pointers more consistently these days and has added it to his offensive arsenal, making him an even tougher assignment for his defenders.

One thing that can be noticed though after watching the clip was his ability to finish strong to the basket using his leaping ability. He appeared to dunk the ball with a lot of ease, which he is still taking advantage of up to this day. Griffin’s heft, coupled with his freakish athleticism, has been showcased since he entered the league, and by improving his skill set further, including his shooting form, has established him as one of the best power forwards in the league today.
