SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks had an entertaining contest on Monday night that got a bit out of hand as the game went on. Trae Young and the Hawks led Stephen Curry and the Warriors at halftime, 65-61, but after that point, things went off the rails for Atlanta.
After pouring in 24 first-half points, Curry came out of the locker room hot, notching 18 third-quarter points as part of a 50-point explosion. The Hawks simply had no answer for the Warriors star. Young talked about the challenge of slowing Curry down in his postgame interview.
“You talk about screen-and-trap. We kind of did it to Steph later in the game, but their team is just so wired, and they know when Steph gets trapped, Steph gets off it, and then Draymond (Green) is throwing a lob and finding another shooter. They're wired like that. They have been through this, so they know how to handle it when Steph is getting trapped and things like that,” Young told ClutchPoints.

The Hawks came up short in the end in a 127-113 loss to the Warriors. The defeat dropped the Hawks' record to 4-7, and the Warriors improved to a league-best 9-1.
The season is still early and anything can happen as the year progresses. For now, the Warriors are the hottest team in the NBA, and they look unstoppable.
