The Washington, D.C. sports fans have not forgotten yet that Kevin Durant didn't even consider his hometown as a destination this summer during free agency.
Durant left the Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors, surprising a lot of NBA fans. Durant considered a handful teams, none of which was the Washington Wizards.
KD grew up in D.C. and there has always been hope that the Wizards might eventually be able to tempt Durant into returning home. Durant was never about it though.
The Washington Redskins hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday night for their first game of the NFL season and during the game, Durant and fellow USA Olympians were honored in front of the crowd.

Even though this was Durant representing the team that everyone on this country is on, some local fans didn't hold back reminding KD about their disdain for his decision this summer.

That wasn't too bad.
Being more of a villain this season is something Durant is going to have to get used to. It may have helped some that he played for Team USA this summer in Rio, but that's in the past now. Fans are back to hating on him more for joining the Warriors. Get used to it, KD.
