Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson vehemently denied any rumors about him and Indiana Pacers forward Paul George having talks about a future in purple-and-gold.

George was rumored to have reached out to Thompson in hopes of joining forces once he eventually makes his way to the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Thompson — that wasn't the case at all, per Nick De Paula of The Vertical.

The two players were teammates as part of the Team USA ensemble that won yet another Olympic gold medal in Rio De Janeiro prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.

Thompson was kept in the starting lineup despite his uncharacteristic poor shooting in Brazilian soil, while George was the clear spark plug off the bench, getting in passing lanes with his athleticism and long span.

The two players are natives of the L.A. area, but Thompson isn't as tied to his Angeleno roots having spent his life throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The 6-foot-7 marksman will become a free agent in 2019, a time in which the Warriors will have tough decisions to make, likely having to choose between him and Draymond Green, who will become a free agent in 2020.
