Having won three NBA championships in four years and reaching five consecutive NBA Finals, this Golden State Warriors squad is undoubtedly one of the greatest teams in NBA history. But with the Warriors trailing the Toronto Raptors 1-3 and facing the possibility that Kevin Durant will no longer be with the organization come this summer, the dynasty is officially in jeopardy.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson reflected on the “journey” that the team has been on since 2014 while also reiterating that the series is not over just yet:

There is a lot hanging in the balance as the Warriors prepare to save their season on Monday night. Should they find a way to overcome the odds and win the next three games, they will be the first team to three-peat since the Los Angeles Lakers of the early 2000s, and just the third team to ever accomplish the feat. Even if they do pull off such a miraculous comeback, the dynasty may be nearing an end.

Durant's future with the team is totally uncertain, but what is known is that the Warriors have looked extremely vulnerable without him on the floor. Should he take his talents elsewhere, Golden State will have to make a number of moves to increase their depth while pivoting the focus back to the original trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Of course, the Warriors won a title without Durant. But they defeated a severely depleted Cleveland Cavaliers team in 2015, only to lose to that same team at full strength the next year. Then Durant was added to the equation.
