Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is definitely not one to make excuses. The five-time All-Star proved this yet again following his team's Game 4 defeat against the Toronto Raptors, stating that his hamstring issue had no effect on his play throughout the contest.
“It didn't affect me,” Thompson said of his injury, per Nick Friedell of ESPN. “Like I said before, it's the Finals. It's a long season. You play 100-plus games, you're going to be banged up. But you just got to dig deep. No one's going to feel sorry for you, so you just got to go out there, man up and play to the best of your ability.”
Thompson is an old school type of player, and in his mind, there seems to be no middle ground. Either you play or you don't; and if you do, there's no room for any excuses. This becomes especially true now that the stakes are so high.

The Warriors sharpshooter was forced to sit out Game 3 because of the hamstring injury, and being one of the most robust players in the league today, you know that only something serious would have caused him to miss out on a Finals game. Moreover, one does not simply shake off hamstring injuries in the span of a couple of days, so Thompson could not have been a hundred percent fit for Game 4.
Nonetheless, the two-time All-NBA team member powered through the injury, and came out with a tremendous performance, accounting for a team-high 28 points (on 11-of-18 shooting), six three-pointers, three rebounds, and two assists.
Thompson must have been feeling at least some discomfort in his hamstring, but he obviously did not let this affect him on the court.
