If the Toronto Raptors win Game 4 of the NBA Finals, there's a chance the Golden State Warriors will have played their last game at Oracle Arena on Friday night. It's only fitting, then, that the man who led the Warriors to their first championship after moving to the Bay Area was in attendance.

Franchise legend Al Attles received a standing ovation from a fawning Oracle Arena crowd when he was introduced in the early going of Friday's contest.

The 82-year-old Attles has undergone four surgeries in the past few months to address a myriad of health issues, including diverticulitis and a cancerous lump, his son told the San Francisco Chronicle. His appearance for Game 4 marks the first time Attles has been at Oracle Arena in the 2018-19 season.

The six-foot point guard played 11 seasons for the Warriors dating from 1960-61 to 1970-71, including for the team's inaugural season in San Francisco in 1962-63. Attles took over as Golden State's head coach in 1969-70, spending the last two seasons of his playing career as player-coach. He led the Warriors to a title in 1975,  and remained their head coach through the 1982-83 season. Attles has held many different roles for Golden State in the interim, including briefly spending time as the team's general manager during the 1980s.

The current Warriors entered Game 4 trailing the Raptors, who have home-court advantage, 2-1 in the NBA Finals. Golden State will move across the Bay to San Francisco's Chase Center next season.
