Even the best in the world don't always have great days.

Stephen Curry has been in a shooting slump during the preseason. At least by his standards.

The two-time reigning MVP is averaging just 11.7 points on 40.9 percent shooting from the field during the exhibition games. These games don't matter yet and it's going to take a lot more of this before Warriors head coach Steve Kerr starts to worry.

Kerr knows Curry's rhythm as well as anyone and the initial slump isn't a surprise to him.

“He’s always a guy who takes a little time,” head coach Steve Kerr said. “I think two weeks from tonight is opening night, so he’s got a couple weeks to find a rhythm.”

Curry has also been battling some sickness as he missed practice over the weekend with flu-like symptoms. It's made for a sluggish start to this year's campaign and Curry is hoping he doesn't bring any teammates down with him.

“Everybody in the house is getting it,” Stephen Curry said after Warriors practice Tuesday. “It’s all my fault.”

The Warriors have already been pretty impressive in the preseason despite Curry yet to look like himself. Winning is not the worry yet, however Curry is still hoping to hit his stride sooner rather than later.

It's just going to take some time. And for the games to start mattering more.

“When we play full rotation minutes,” Curry said, “I think it’ll start to look more and more normal.”
