On Monday night, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson had a career night and dropped 60 points against the Indiana Pacers. What's even more impressive was he did it only three quarters, playing 29 total minutes during the game.
The Warriors entered the final period leading by 36 points and head coach Steve Kerr decided to sit his entire first unit, which included Thompson, in the last 12 minutes.
Some questioned his move as he hindered the 26-year-old Washington State product's chance to add on to his points total, but the veteran bench tactician had the perfect response to those who do not agree with his move.

It has been common practice for NBA teams not to field in their starters in the fourth quarter of blowout games. This is done as a sign of respect to their opponent and also to prevent injuries to occur.
Thompson could have scored 80 points or even more as he was red-hot from the field, but at this early stage of the season, the Warriors treated is as just a regular game and did not want to risk their All-Star shooting guard getting hurt.
