The Golden State Warriors could get a key element of their puzzle back in time for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, as Andre Iguodala has been reportedly pain-free during the last couple of days, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Iguodala has been out of The Hamptons Five rotation since suffering an injury late in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets. The former Sixth Man of the Year knocked knees with James Harden and has been nursing a bone bruise in his leg ever since, unable to take part on several practices after sustaining the injury.

He's received plenty of treatment throughout the days, but finally went through a full personal workout and sprinted for the first time since sustaining the injury, which was a welcome sight as the team takes flight to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals.

Iguodala has been the primary defender on LeBron James, a task that earned him Finals MVP honors in 2015, as the Warriors won their first championship in 40 years.

“I aim to play in Game 3, but I've aimed to play in Game 2 and Game 3,” said Iguodala. “We'll just have to see.”

This connects right with the speculation that head coach Steve Kerr was saving him for a few extra days, hoping for some extra time to heal before the Warriors take the road.

“I'm optimistic Andre will play at some point in the series,” Kerr said on Sunday. “He has gotten better gradually, but there's no way of knowing for sure at this point.”

Iguodala's role could prove vital on the road, taking on James as a personal matchup and playing as the pace-setter on offense for a team that tends to get lackadaisical at times.
