The Golden State Warriors are awaiting the potential implications of Shaun Livingston's first career ejection on Sunday night against the Miami Heat. The veteran point guard clashed heads with referee Courtney Kirkland with 6:24 left in the first half, getting tossed after claiming his case for two fouls that occurred as he positioned himself in the high-post.

Kirkland actually walked in Livingston's direction — raising the question if it was indeed him initiating contact, not Livingston.

His ejection left the team with only Stephen Curry at the reins of the point guard position, which turned out fine for the remainder of the game as the Warriors held on to a double-digit lead, coasting to a 28-point rout over the Heat.

“We know Shaun is not that type of player,” forward Kevin Durant, who was ejected on Friday, said post-game, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle. “He’s a pro that’s been in the league for so long and just plays the game and doesn’t really say much.

“So, you could tell that things were a little heated right there. We felt like he should have got two shots after that shot he took. It did look like from watching that Courtney stepped into his face and he tossed him out.”

Head coach Steve Kerr, Durant, Livingston, and others have been frustrated with the lack of calls they've been getting through the early goings of the season, making this just another case of the infuriating toll it has taken on the team.

Shaun Livingston is scheduled to rest tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, so he'll sit regardless of whether a suspension is coming his way or not.
