Golden State Warriors president Bob Myers recently opened up about the current dilemma his team is in with regards to the impending free agency of superstar Kevin Durant.
When asked about how he manages to stay focused on the current goal of winning the championship while also having to worry about Durant's decision in the summer, Myers explained how he basically has no choice but to just go with it:
“It’s just your job to do both,” he said, via Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle. “The coaches and players are in it, and we have to be in it. So you’re in it with one eye on the future. That’s OK, it’s exciting. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not a dread. That’s our part in all this, you try to build from all this.”
Myers went on to admit that the thought of Durant walking away in the offseason is indeed concerning. However, the 44-year-old executive pointed out that this is exactly the type of issue that has to resolve itself in its own time. There's simply no point in jumping the gun:

“I’ve been in the business of free agency for longer than any of this stuff, so you can’t rush it,” Myers said. “A lot of people want to rush it, but it happens however it happens. You just move through it the best you can.”
Durant's future with Golden State is anything but secured at this point. However, with the prospect of winning their third straight championship within reach, Myers and company have much more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.
Whether Kevin Durant is actually available to help those efforts remains to be seen, as he's still out with his calf injury.
