The Golden State Warriors are on a five-year run of dominance in the NBA. The Warriors have been vocal over the years how difficult it is to stay on top, especially with everybody else looking to take them down. However, it seems like they found something meaningful to play for this season. In an interview with Ron Kroichik of The San Francisco Chronicle, Warriors GM Bob Myers admitted that this season feels different from the previous four seasons because it's their last gig at the Oracle Arena.

Myers: That’s what makes it interesting: Every year is different. It’s hard to separate each of these five years. I don’t know if this feels harder because of this specific year or because it’s the fifth year. It doesn’t matter but it just feels hard, and that’s not bad.

The thing for me that’s a little different about this year is knowing right now that there will only be three more games, at most, at Oracle. That is different for everybody, including the fans. That adds a different element.

Myers, likewise, admitted that this last run at the Oracle in these Finals will be an emotional one for him, especially growing up as a Warriors fan himself.

Myers: Yeah. I was telling my daughters that my first NBA game was in this building and there aren’t going to be NBA games there anymore after the next three (at most). Either way, what a gift to give back to our fans: Our last game in there will be an NBA Finals game, which is pretty cool.

The Oracle Arena, known for its raucous atmosphere and rabid fans, has been home for the Warriors since 1966. It is the oldest arena in the NBA. The Warriors are set to move across to San Francisco and call the Chase Center their new home starting next season.

The Warriors have a chance to gift their beloved fans in Oakland a three-peat and a championship win in Oracle Arena. Oakland will host Games 3, 4, and possibly 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.
