The Golden State Warriors just recently added another feather in their cap. This time around, it comes by way of Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year award.
What's amazing is the fact that SI did not bestow the honor to an individual player from the Warriors. It wasn't given to Stephen Curry, who continues to be the centerpiece of this historic group, nor was it handed to back-to-back Finals MVP Kevin Durant, nor to head coach Steve Kerr, who has guided the team to three titles in four seasons.
Instead, the recognition was given to the team as a single, unstoppable force that has become arguably the best team ever assembled in NBA history.

Warriors president Bob Myers was delighted to receive such an honor, and pointed out that this was a testament to the team's inspiring battle cry: Strength in Numbers.
“This is an incredible honor and one that certainly signifies our Strength in Numbers philosophy as a team and organization,” said Myers, per the Associated Press. “Our success is due to the contributions of every single player, coach and staff member in our organization; for Sports Illustrated to recognize this unique dynamic is truly special.”
At this point, the Warriors have already secured their place in the history books. However, they appear to be far from done, and many believe that their dynasty is still at its peak. To have achieved all this, the organization has put so much emphasis on the collective capacity of the team as a single unit, and this acknowledgement is definitely something they can be proud of.
