By the numbers, this season has been something of a disappointment for the Golden State Warriors. They struggled at times, and will need to win their two remaining games to avoid finishing with their worst regular season record since 2013-14.

But General Manager Bob Myers isn't worried. He feels that this year's team is gelling even better than least season's championship squad. As he told Mark Medina of The Mercury News:

“We’re ending better this year. We obviously have had moments each season where we could’ve played better. But I think we’re finishing on a better note than last year. I don’t know where that translates into the postseason. But it feels like we’re in a better rhythm than we were last year.”

When asked more about the differences between this year and last, Myers mentioned the team's intensity. He even cited their handling of various issues with referees:

“I do feel like it’s different. Even when it boils over with the officials, I feel like they’re bringing lately the necessary effort and they’re engaged to the right degree. They’re bringing the right level of intensity. I’m also personally understanding of the fact that they’re trying to go to the Finals for five straight years. It’s a different animal. Every year you try to climb that mountain consecutively, it’s a little bit harder. That’s okay.”

The Warriors have been playing perhaps their best basketball of the season as of late. They are wrapping up the regular season on a high note, going 8-2 in their last 10 games.

But despite their success, the team isn't quite ready for the postseason. They are still very banged up and will need some good health news between now and Saturday. Perennial All-Stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are listed as day-to-day and will not play Tuesday night. In addition, semi-regulars Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut are inactive.

Golden State has clinched the first seed in the Western Conference with a 56-24 record.

Their final two games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights will come against the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies, respectively.
