Chicago Sky's Candace Parker predicted that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry would drop 50 points on the Atlanta Hawks; then he did.

She brought up a good point. Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks came to Golden State, looking for an upset and to get their season on track. The sub-plot though was the Trae Young vs Stephen Curry matchup.

Young showed out, scoring 28 points on 11-20 shooting, with nine assists. However, Curry sent a clear message as to who is still the best shooter in the world.

Curry dropped 50 points on 14-28 shooting, hitting nine 3's and all 13 free throws. The Warriors improved to a league-best 9-1 with a 127-113 victory. Parker might have hit the nail on the head.

This is Young's 4th season in the NBA. During his sophomore season, he had a massive breakout and was being compared to Stephen Curry as the next best shooter in the world.

Even their careers in college mirrored each other. Both Stephen Curry and Trey Young went nuts shooting in college and during the NCAA Tournament. Curry did it for Davidson in 2008. He carried them all the way to the Elite 8, losing to eventual champion Kansas.

Young lit NCAA basketball on fire during the 2017-2018 season, and dropped 28 points in their tournament loss. #10 seed Oklahoma lost to #7 seed Rhode Island.

Young was then drafted #5 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, only to be traded to the Atlanta Hawks. Since then, all Young has done is mirror his game after Curry's. He pulls up from 35 feet if you don't guard him out there. If you play him too tight, he will blow around you. He can pass. He has become one of the best offenses players in the league.

But as Curry showed Monday, the king is still the king.
