Shortly after explaining his decision to join the Golden State Warriors in free agency through a self-written piece in The Players' Tribune, DeMarcus Cousins issued one last statement on the matter, hoping they're words of finality when it comes to the subject.

Cousins took to his Instagram story to address his naysayers, noting that what he said in his recent piece is the extent of detail he will give to anyone who asks about his decision to sign a $5.3 million deal with the two-time defending champs.

“The raw truth straight from the source is in front of you, it's up to you to accept it. You've gotten every detail with my experience through FA (outside of my phone call with Demps and the specific teams I reached out to) which will remain that way. This is my last time speaking on this matter. What's done is done now and it's time to move forward with my journey.”

Cousins explained the thought process of making a change after receiving no real suitors for his services during the first day of free agency, as some wondered about the fit and role he would play on their team, leaving contractual discussions out of the picture.

It was the big man who reached out to general manager Bob Myers and consequently to head coach Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, asking if they could envision him joining them for the 2018-19 season.

Boogie is currently recovering from a season-ending Achilles injury in hopes of making his return to the court soon in his new jersey.
