The Golden State Warriors are in familiar territory right now. This is going to be their sixth trip to the NBA Finals in the past eight years, and there's no denying that this stage is nothing new to them.

Be that as it may, Warriors star Draymond Green admits that they are much different people now as compared to who they were many years ago. According to Green, the biggest difference is that he no longer hangs out with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and the rest of his Dubs teammates anymore:

“I think we've changed a lot,” the Warriors star told Malika Andrews of ESPN. “I think number one, the most importantly, we're in totally, totally different places in our lives. When I look back at us during that time, we all hung together a lot more. We were just around each other. We don't hang together very much at all anymore now. Why? We have children, families, and that takes up all your time when you're not here. But our bond is no different than it was when we hung together like that, and I think it's in large part due to the foundation that we built.”

This serves as a harsh reality check for Warriors fans everywhere, especially those who grew up cheering on the Dubs during their dynasty years. Some of us may have gone through the exact same experience with our own friends in that we are no longer able to hang out with them anymore simply because our priorities have all changed. I can definitely say the same about my personal situation.

However, as Green said, the most important part here is the foundation that they've built. He has an unbreakable bond with Steph and Klay, and this is what makes this Warriors team so strong and so united. Most importantly, they may no longer be the younger and more carefree versions of themselves, but there's no denying that their desire for another title stays as strong as ever.
