Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green isn't happy with the direction that defense is going in the NBA and didn't mince his words when talking about after the team's victory on Saturday night over the Los Angeles Kings.
“You can't really play defense in the league [today],” Draymond Green said to media members on Saturday night transcribed by 24/7 Sports.”I guess that's what they wanted, right?”
Green was asked if he was frustrated by the direction the league is headed and he said he isn't and there is nothing he can do to change it.

It seems that fouls are being called more tight this season and most fans do tune in to watch the leagues best offensive players, not the guys good on defense so it makes sense that is the direction the league would like to go in. Green complained all the way back in October about how tight the games were being called.
“It's been called pretty tight,” Green said of games so far this season, via ESPN's Nick Friedell. “We were told that. Defense isn't really an emphasis anymore in this league. So I think you're seeing it all around the league with these high scores. We know what the emphasis is.”
The Warriors star can deny he doesn't care about the way the league is going in, but that can't be completely true. This is a guy who makes his living on the defensive end of the floor so, with the way the game is being called now, he can't have as much of an impact on the game.
