The Golden State Warriors won their first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2. thanks to a massive performance from Kevin Durant in Game 6.
Durant scored 50 points to lead the Warriors to a 129-110 victory at Staples Center. He also recorded six rebounds and five assists in what was a historic performance from the two-time Finals MVP.

KD scored 38 points in the first half to get things going for the Dubs. His performance tied Charles Barkley's record for the second-most points in a playoff half, falling only one point short of the mark set by Sleepy Floyd.
He also became the first Warriors player since Rick Barry to record back-to-back 40-plus points in a playoff game. Durant had 45 against the Clippers in Game 5, albeit in a losing effort.
Head coach Steve Kerr opted to start Shaun Livingston and play small ball in Game 6 in order to have Andre Iguodala and Kevon Looney available and fresh when Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell come in for the Clippers. That strategy paid off big time, as Williams and Harrell combined for just 18 points.

Stephen Curry had 24 points for the Dubs, while Draymond Green recorded a triple-double of 16 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
On the other hand, Danilo Gallinari led all Clippers scorers with 29 markers.
The Clippers were hoping to extend the series to a do-or-die Game 7. They managed to make life hard for the Warriors, even coming back from a 31-point deficit in Game 2 to stun the reigning champions. However, Golden State proved to be too talented for the superstar-less LA team.
The Warriors will play the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference semifinals in a rematch of last year's West finale.
