STOCKTON, Calif. — The moment Golden State Warriors fans have been waiting for is one step closer. Last season's No. 2 pick, James Wiseman, officially made his G League debut on Thursday and is nearing a return to the big club.
It was a successful night for the young Warriors center. After a sluggish start, most of the game went Wiseman’s way. At least until the ending, when he was taken out of the game after reaching his minutes restriction.

“Man, I was super upset,” Wiseman told ClutchPoints with a smile. “I'm like, bro, I'm trying to get some more burn, but it's all good. All glory be to God. I'm just grateful to be out there and playing.”

Wiseman finished the game shooting 7-of-13 from the field with 18 points and six boards. The Warriors prospect played 20 prosperous minutes, which was the amount the coaching staff had planned for him. As soon as he was subbed out in the fourth quarter, you could see he wanted to stay on the floor. He hadn't played a game in 11 months, so it was only natural to see that reaction.

It's also a good sign.
The Warriors youngster is hungry for more and excited about taking the next steps in his recovery. After being away from the game so long, the promising center is trying his best to enjoy every moment. Having fun playing the sport he loves again is his biggest concern.

Wiseman is scheduled to play a second game with Santa Clara on Sunday. Another strong performance could lead him back to playing in the NBA next week. Whenever that is, it will be his first game this season and the first time playing with Warriors star Klay Thompson.
