Klay Thompson will become a free agent after the 2018-19 NBA season, and it has been long rumored that the sharp-shooting guard could leave the Golden State Warriors.
Former Chicago Bulls guard Jay Williams also believes that Thompson will no longer be in a Warriors uniform next season. Williams said on ESPN's First Take that he sees a lot of reasons why the 29-year-old guard would eventually decide to bolt out of Golden State.
Williams said that he does not think that there is still a way for Thompson to return to Golden State next season based on his recent body language. He cited one incident where the entire bench celebrated a Steph Curry basket, but Thompson remained seated with no reaction at all.

The former second overall pick believes that being the third option behind Kevin Durant and Curry is hurting Thompson. He was once the second star behind Curry, and led the Warriors to title in 2015. However, Durant's arrival changed a lot of things in Golden State, including Thompson's role.
Williams is convinced that Thompson felt disrespected over the past couple of years, as he has not been getting the type of shots that he usually gets. Since Durant's arrival, the Warriors have leaned on him to take the big shots down the stretch, which was previously the role of either Curry or Thompson.
If he decides to test free agency, Thompson will not have a shortage of suitors, as he has already been linked to several teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite being the third option in offense, he averaged 21.5 points in 78 games this season.
