Kelly Oubre Jr. was noticed on deadline day. His name was thrown around quite a bit leading up to Thursday's trade deadline frenzy, but in the end, the Golden State Warriors decided to retain the services of the 25-year-old.
Dubs general manager Bob Myers has now opened up about Oubre's future with the Warriors and how the 6-foot-7 forward figures in the team's plans for the future.
Myers acknowledged how Oubre has found relative success in his brief time with the Warriors, but the high-ranking team executive was also noncommittal about keeping him for the long haul:

“Kelly's done a great job,” Myers said during a video conference call with Warriors reporters on Friday, before posing the question, via Nick Friedell of ABC News. “Are we going to keep him or are we not going to keep him?”
Myers continued by saying that Oubre has “done a good job of just playing basketball. And those are conversations we'll have — I can't, per the rules, promise anything, but we like Kelly and we'd love to be able to see him in our future plans, but that's four or five, six months away, and we'll see what happens with us and obviously it takes two. So that decision will be made down the line.”
As Myers implied above, Oubre will also have a significant say on the matter of his future with the Warriors. He is currently in the final year of his current deal which means that he is going to be a free agent in the offseason. If Oubre opts to do so, he could very well walk away from Golden State in the summer to sign with another team.
For what it's worth, Oubre is currently earning $14.4 million this term with the Warriors. The 2021 offseason is not going to be short of big names, so it remains to be see what Oubre's value will be should he decide to enter free agency.
