There were reports earlier this week that there was a team who called about the availability of Kelly Oubre Jr. on the Golden State Warriors. Following Golden State's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Steve Kerr spoke on the legitimacy of the trade rumors involving Oubre, via the San Francisco Chronicle's Connor Letourneau.

It was discovered that the New Orleans Pelicans called about Oubre, likely seeing what his status was with the Warriors. Kerr shared that the Pelicans only called and didn't make an offer for Oubre, which led to nothing materializing between the two teams.

Nevertheless, the news broke of Golden State engaging in trade discussions surrounding Oubre, leading some to believe that they would be willing to part ways with Oubre already. While Kerr didn't deny the rumors entirely, it's clear that he wasn't content with how the information leaked.

Oubre, who is in his first season with the Warriors, has gotten off to a slower-than-expected start as he tries to get acclimated to his new team. The Kansas product has contributed 12.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in the first 18 games of the season.

At the same time, Oubre is shooting a career-worst 37.3 percent from the field while he's converted a career-worst 23.3 percent of his three-point attempts thus far. Of course, with Klay Thompson on the court, Golden State needs to get efficient shooting from everyone around Stephen Curry.

Seeing that the Pelicans never made an offer for Oubre, we likely won't find out what the Warriors could have gotten for Oubre.
