In Game 3 of the 2018 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors hold the opportunity to push toward a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
All-Star forward Kevin Durant has stepped up offensively by leading the charge offensively for the Warriors in the pivotal contest on Wednesday night. According to Justin Kubatko of StatMuse, Durant has joined some elite company after notching at least 25 points in his first 13 NBA Finals games.
Kevin Durant has joined Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal as the only players to score 25 or more points in each of their first 13 Finals games.

Durant was filling it in the first half scoring 24 points in the first half behind four 3-pointers in the first two quarters of play. He has stepped up with two-time league MVP Stephen Curry missing nine out of his first 10 shots including missing his first six 3-pointers.
The 29-year-old is one of the most talented scorers in league history and he has shown that in the NBA Finals stage throughout his career. This is an exclusive company as he has joined two Hall of Famers, who were each dominant players in their own eras. Durant has had his way against the Cavaliers in the last two years with them not having an answer for him defensively on the court. He has a unique offensive skill set with the ability to be a major factor from practically any spot on the floor.
His production has been a huge part of the Warriors' success over his first two seasons becoming arguably their primary offensive piece to the puzzle. His play on the court for the rest of the NBA Finals will be a major influencing factor in helping Golden State repeat as NBA champions and claiming their third title in the last four years.
