In the midst of the coronavirus putting a halt to the 2019-20 NBA season, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry and assistant coach Mike Brown didn't have much to look forward to but a replay of Klay Thompson's mythical 60-point game.

NBC Sports Bay Area aired the replay of Thompson taking on the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 5, 2016, a throwback for the ages:

Thompson's feats are already seared into NBA mythology, even if it happened less than four years ago.

Oddly enough this happened at the beginning of Kevin Durant's tenure, only 21 games into the season. That was also Brown's first season as an assistant with the Warriors, taking Luke Walton's spot after he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer.

For the two newcomers to witness NBA history that quickly into the season, they surely knew they were in for a special ride.

Curry has watched all the magic unfold before his eyes, playing or watching his backcourt teammate pull off feats of this nature.

Thompson had the trigger set to automatic, scoring 40 points by halftime and just 18 first-half minutes against a helpless Indiana defense.

Thompson sat down with 1:22 left in the period, as fans jumped to their feet for an extended standing ovation. He would not play another minute of that 142-106 rout. Head coach and Steve Kerr felt it wasn't worth it to challenge the basketball gods, with the game already way out of hand.

Taking only 11 dribbles in the game, the Warriors sniper made 21-of-33 from the floor, 8-of-14 from deep, and 10-of-11 from the stripe, mustering deadly efficiency in what still is his career-high in scoring.
