The Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson has now passed Steve Nash on the all-time three points scored list.

Many people consider Thompson to be the best spot-up shooter of this generation. His ability to pop-up from a screen or just being open on a dime and swish from deep makes him so deadly. The combination of him and his backcourt partner Stephen Curry, the “Splash Brothers”, is the deadliest duo of three-point shooters in the history of the game.

Thompson has been with the Warriors since 2012 when he was taken with the 11th overall pick in the NBA draft. He's shot 45.5 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from the field for this season, unusually low numbers from the sharpshooter. He's scored 21.8 points, grabbed 4.2 rebounds, and dished out 2.0 assists while playing 34.3 minutes per game.

On his career, though Thompson has averaged 41.7 percent from beyond the arc and 45.5 percent from beyond the field. Normally he's much more effective as a scorer from deep, but he's struggled this season. Part of it his tendency to force midrange jumpers when he could just play within Steve Kerr's offensive scheme. But perhaps he's just in a long term slump.

Steve Nash, on the other hand, was an eight-time all-star, five-time assists leader, seven-time all-NBA team member, and a two-time MVP winner. In his prime with the Phoenix Suns he was the most dynamic scoring point guard in the entire league.

Thompson was tied with LeBron James coming into Friday's contest with the Warriors with 1,684 threes made. The next man on the list after Nash is Dale Ellis.
