SAN FRANCISCO — The combo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson only played a small number of games together for the Golden State Warriors this season. The number of games the duo played alongside defensive star Draymond Green was even smaller. Luckily, this trio is set to be together again Saturday during Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Playoffs against the Denver Nuggets.
Thursday morning, the Warriors scrimmaged for the first time this week, and Curry was a participant for the first time since his foot injury. Thompson was excited to see Curry back out there again as he ramps up for his return.

“It felt good to play,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “Steph looked like himself, and he just gives everybody a lift with just his presence on the court. It was great to have him out there.”

When Curry is in the building, things always get a little bit louder. He's the franchise player and everyone loves him. If he returns in Game 1 of the playoffs, that boost in morale could carry the Dubs to a victory.

Curry averaged 25.5 points per night this season. He had the worst shooting year of his career but still shot a respectable 38 percent from deep. Although he struggled shooting at times, at least by his standards, Curry is very confident he will play well when he returns.
Assuming Steph does indeed play, Saturday will be the first time Curry, Thompson, and Green make a postseason appearance together since 2019. It's against the Nuggets, who were the trio's first-ever playoff opponent back in 2013.
