NBC Sports Bay Area invited Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson to the commentating booth against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. It didn't take long for the beloved guard to make Dubs fans laugh while on the call.

Thompson revealed he actually wanted to back out from the gig. However, he saw the sweet-looking #ReporterKlay backdrop and felt sorry for the efforts of whoever prepared the background for him.

Watch the hilarious clip below, per NBC Sports Bay Area:

The broadcast had Klay Thompson for the entire third quarter as Golden State destroyed the Pistons on Saturday en route to a 118-91 victory. The five-time All-Star had a ton of hilarious moments while on the air and Warriors fans must have had their tummies hurting through the third period of the game.

Of course, Thompson also gave Dub Nation an update on his Achilles rehab as he set his sights on a return to the court in the 2021-22 season. The 30-year-old Warriors star revealed he feels good, but being away from the court has been a killer for him. Certainly, if anyone is itching to take the floor again, it's Thompson who has stayed relatively healthy prior to the two devastating injuries that will now keep him out for two full NBA seasons.

Nonetheless, if his rehab process go as planned, he should make a full recovery by next year. Thompson's return should be a scary sight for the rest of the NBA as he rejoins Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in their quest to bring back Golden State to NBA glory. Not only that, Andrew Wiggins has been quite the revelation since joining the Warriors and is establishing himself as a legitimate two-way wing.

Meanwhile, 2020 second overall pick James Wiseman has shown plenty of promise through the early goings of his rookie campaign and should only get better when Thompson returns next season.
