Now that Kevin Durant is a member of the Brooklyn Nets and Klay Thompson will miss a chunk of the 2019-20 season, many NBA pundits and fans have come to the conclusion that the Golden State Warriors' dynasty is officially over.
However, Thompson is adamant that the Warriors are still fully capable of winning a championship, even after losing one of their best players. The sharpshooter went on ESPN's “The Jump” to state his belief that Golden State could still keep it's dominant run alive:
Klay Thompson on the assumption the Warriors’ dynasty is over (via @ESPN's The Jump):
“I think that’s premature to say there is no more dynasty. We still have Stephen Curry, a two-time MVP, Draymond Green, a Defensive Player of the Year." #DubNation

Klay: “To say the dynasty is over is a little ignorant because I am going to come back better and more athletic. It would not be smart to count the Dubs out that’s what I would tell people.” #DubNation

Klay Thompson is right that the team still boasts a roster full of stars. Stephen Curry is the best shooter in the NBA and a two-time MVP. Draymond Green is still one of the best defensive players in the league and a key cog in the Warriors' offense. And D'Angelo Russell, coming off his first season as an All-Star, is presumed to take Thompson's spot in the starting lineup for now.
So, the Warriors still have plenty of firepower on their roster. But is it enough to actually take the team to a sixth straight NBA Finals appearance?
Realistically, it's still kind of a long shot for the Warriors to advance through a Western Conference that is more stacked than ever. There are now plenty of teams with star duos and deep lineups, and Golden State will be relying on a lot of youth after its star players.
It would be silly to count the Warriors out, but they will not be as good as they were in past seasons.
