Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson says you can feel owner Joe Lacob's âpassionâ for the game and that it makes the players feel good to know they are playing for someone who cares about winning.
Thompson says Lacob, who bought the Warriors in 2010, is sometimes more into games than the fans at Oracle Arena, which is saying a lot since Oracle Arena is arguably the loudest stadium in the NBA.
âI can feel his passion,â Thompson said of Lacob, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. âWe've been here before. And shit, he's more into it than most fans. You got to respect someone's passion like that, man. Especially ownership.
âYou hear a lot of stories [around the league] about people not caring, but Joe's cared since day one, so it felt good to just have that moment with him because I know how much he cares for us to win and how much he wants to be successful.â
The Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets on Friday to advance to their fifth-straight Western Conference Finals.

Lacob and Thompson have a close bond, something which bodes well for Thompson since he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.
âI have a special bond with him,â Lacob said of Klay. âI always have. He's the first player, since I bought the team, that we drafted. The very first one. And I just have always felt an incredible attachment. People make fun of me a little bit â I always say I love Klay. I love Klay. I just do. He's so real. He's so real. There's no B.S. And there's something about him, I have a very special relationship with him.â
So sorry Lakers and Clippers fans, it doesn't look like Thompson is leaving the Warriors this summer.
