Klay Thompson will take on a different role for the Golden State Warriors in their upcoming game versus the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

The injured superstar will appear as the team’s sideline reporter at the Chase Arena, as the Dubs look to improve their record after a poor and injury-riddled start to the season.

Thompson, who won’t see action for the entire 2019-20 NBA season after undergoing surgery to repair his ACL, also appeared in TNT’s panel in the Dubs’ season opener last month.

Klay said that rookies like Jordan Poole will surprise a lot people this year, while analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley blatantly told him to his face that Golden State won’t even reach the playoffs.

Barkley’s words have somehow turned to reality, as the Dubs (3-14) currently hold the worst record in the league and look nothing like the formidable dynasty that dominated the Western Conference in previous years.

Thompson has saved the day for the Warriors countless of times, often burying a crucial 3-pointer when the team needs him the most. Like most of us, he is still getting used to the idea of seeing his team lose by big margins most nights. His objectivity will indeed be tested as a reporter, if his team will once again come out with a poor performance against the lowly Bulls.

The other half of the Spash Bros. was the Warriors’ best two-way player last season, averaging 21.5 points on an efficient 46.7 percent shooting from the field and a 40.2 percent clip from downtown. He also recorded 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steal per game.
