Power forward Marquese Chriss has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Chriss split time last season with the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was the eighth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns.

Marquese Chriss has career averages of 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 197 games with the Suns, Rockets and Cavs while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 29.6 percent from beyond the arc and 62.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Chriss will likely be the Warriors' third center on the depth chart behind Willie Cauley-Stein and Kevon Looney. He's pretty limited in what he can do offensively. Chriss is athletic and can run the floor, so he should be able to get some easy buckets in transition at the rim playing with the Warriors and their uptempo offense.

This seems to be a low risk, high reward move for the Warriors. Golden State will ask Chriss to protect the rim and play with energy when he comes into the game. The Warriors are hoping their culture of winning will rub off on Chriss.

Golden State is playing in its new arena this upcoming season, the Chase Center — which is in San Francisco. Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala are gone, while Klay Thompson is expected to miss a big chunk of the season recovering from his ACL tear.

The Dubs were able to acquire All-Star D'Angelo Russell from the Brooklyn Nets, so they'll have three All-Stars in the starting lineup in Russell, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
