Golden State Warriors big man Marquese Chriss has finally found his “happy place” since bouncing around last season after a two-year stint with the team that drafted him, the Phoenix Suns, parted ways with him.

The Warriors were in dire need of Chriss' services at the start of the season due to injuries to Kevon Looney and Willie Cauley-Stein, making this the perfect opportunity to stand out after a roller-coaster 2018-19 season. Chriss is finally feeling good about where he's at:

“I’m in a happy place right now,” Chriss said, via Wes Goldberg of The Mercury News. “I feel comfortable where I’m at. I think the way I’ve been playing is making me feel better, and I’m enjoying myself while I’m here.”

Chriss was traded to the Houston Rockets after a bad spell with the Suns in 2017-18, starting the 2018-19 season with hopes of cracking Mike D'Antoni's rotation. That wouldn't happen, as Chriss was soon traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. While the playing time was there, a fight with Serge Ibaka of the Toronto Raptors soon smeared his name once again.

The Sacramento native looked for a place in the league this summer, but all he received were two-way offers until the chance to play for the Warriors in training camp resulted in him earning Alfonzo McKinnie's non-guaranteed deal. Chriss is embracing the chance to prove doubters wrong:

“I’ve been on three different teams since I’ve been (in the NBA) so I’d have a lot of revenge games to play if that’s how we’re looking at it,” Chriss told  “It’s another game for me to just have fun and show what I can do.”

Marquese Chriss has become a true asset to Steve Kerr and the rest of his teammates, providing the energy and athleticism this roster so badly needed after the departure of JaVale McGee in 2018.
