Kevin Durant has welcome all the “cupcake” chants, clothes, and taunts throughout the 2016-17 NBA season, now to take it a step further, he's also releasing a pair of his very own Nike kicks to commemorate that. The Golden State Warriors forward will launch the Nike KDX Red Velvet for a sweet $150 this Friday.

The shoes will feature the signature flexible collar of many popular iterations and a velvety-soft mesh material throughout the boot, including a cookies-and-cream in the midsole and the signature swoosh wrapping around the ankle dip.

The official site description reads:
“With a style of play as smooth as velvet, KD is known for having the most fluid game in the game today. Effortlessly making defenders look helpless, always ready to cook his next victim. He dominates the game with unrivaled versatility, forever motivated by the sweet taste of victory. At the end of the day, winning is all that matters and anything else is just icing on the cake. The KDX Red Velvet celebrates the smoothest player in the game and his undying quest for the sweet taste of victory.”
Victory is indeed sweet, but selling these for $150 could prove a sour challenge for Durant or any other athlete with a clear decline in the shoe market during the last couple of years. Capitalizing on the mockery his former fans put on since his departure, though, now that is as sweet as it gets.
